Job Description:
Rics Recruitment is seeking experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers for various transportation and logistics roles across Ireland. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to different locations, ensuring all transport regulations and safety protocols are followed. This role is ideal for professional drivers looking to work in a well-organized and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently for local and long-distance deliveries.
Ensure timely delivery of goods to specified locations, following routes and delivery schedules.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, delivery notes, and fuel consumption.
Comply with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the proper handling of hazardous materials (if applicable).
Report any mechanical issues or breakdowns promptly to the appropriate department.
Requirements:
Valid HGV Class 1 driving license (CE license).
Up-to-date CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) and Digital Tachograph Card.
Proven experience as an HGV Class 1 driver is essential.
Good knowledge of road safety regulations and transport laws in Ireland.
Ability to drive long distances while adhering to legal hours of service.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
